The alkaline half of the Alloy System
A solvent that swells paint is only half a stripper — something must lift the loosened film, emulsify the oils underneath and keep the debris from redepositing on the work. ALLOYSalt-L is that half: a sodium-silicate alkaline liquid whose detergent action turns the solvent's work into a filterable result.
In the working bath the two parts run together at system ratio, and the division of labour is invisible — parts go in painted and carboned, come out bare, and the residue ends up in the filter bag instead of back on the metal.
Safe on steel, cast iron, aluminium and zinc — never magnesium. Sold as the Alloy System (both parts); this page covers the alkaline part for top-ups and system balance.
Penetrates and swells
Benzyl-alcohol solvent action gets under cured paint and carbonised films and swells them off the substrate — the job methylene chloride used to do, without its compliance burden.
Lifts, emulsifies, suspends
Silicate alkaline detergent lifts the loosened film, emulsifies the oils beneath, and holds residue in suspension so it ends up in the filter — not back on the work.

| Dilution | 10% v/v of the mixed system in water (Kleentek TDS KT-TDS-ALSSYS) |
| Temperature | 40–70 °C — heating is required; ultrasonics or air agitation improves results markedly |
| Fire safety | The mixed system is non-combustible per its SDS. ALLOYSolv on its own has a flash point of 101 °C — well above the working range; ALLOYSalt-L has none. |
| Equipment | Ultrasonic tanks, agitated immersion, static tanks (agitate if possible), spray washers |
Both parts dose into the same bath — one system, one make-up. The trial documents your working ratio, temperature and cycle before you commit.
Where it earns its keep
System additive boosting Alloysolve on cross-linked and stoved coatings.
Dose: 10% v/v of the mixed system in water, at 40–70 °C. The trial sets your exact process values; the TDS governs.
