This is the express warranty Misonics Pty Ltd (ABN 50 659 454 681) (Misonics, we, us, our) gives on the equipment and products we supply. It is a warranty against defects for the purposes of the Australian Consumer Law and applies in addition to any rights you have under that law.
What is covered and for how long
Everything we supply — ultrasonic cleaning machines and systems (the MSX, UltraMax, EVS, SonoLine, UltraWash and UltraKleen ranges), PowerSonic benchtop cleaners, ultrasonic generators, transducers, control hardware and spare parts — is warranted for 12 months from the date of dispatch against defects in materials and workmanship.
Where a longer warranty is offered on a tank, a stainless steel structure or an imported machine, it applies only where the sales contract states it; otherwise the period is 12 months from dispatch. UltraTecno machines carry the manufacturer's warranty as stated in the sales contract, administered in Australia by Misonics.
Consumables are not covered by this warranty: cleaning chemicals, filter bags and cartridges, and heater elements. Chemicals are supplied to the manufacturer's technical data sheet; a product that is not as described or not of acceptable quality is dealt with under the Australian Consumer Law and our Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy, and we handle the claim with the manufacturer.
Repairs and servicing we carry out outside warranty are warranted for 90 days on the work performed and the parts we fitted. A repair or replacement under this warranty does not extend or restart the warranty period: the original 12 months from dispatch continues to apply to the repaired or replaced part or goods.
What we will do
If a covered defect appears during the warranty period, we will repair the goods, replace the affected part or the goods, or supply equivalent goods, at our option and without charge. A claim is worked through in this order.
- Remote assessment first. Every claim starts with a remote diagnostic session where the machine supports it, and otherwise with the information you give us. Most faults are identified this way, wherever the machine is.
- You help verify the fault. You must give us the information and assistance we reasonably ask for to confirm it: photographs, video, readings from the controller, tests carried out by your operator under our direction, and access to the machine's remote connection.
- Parts by freight, fitted with our guidance. Where the fault is confirmed and the part can be replaced by a competent person at your site, we send the part and guide your electrician or technician through fitting it by phone or video. This is how most warranty faults are fixed.
- Return to us. Where the goods can be returned, you return them to us or to our nominated service agent. Under this warranty freight to and from us is your responsibility.
- A site visit where we decide one is needed. We attend site under warranty, at our cost, only where our assessment is that the fault cannot be resolved by the steps above. This applies whether or not we installed or commissioned the machine. If you require a visit that our assessment says is not needed, or a visit finds no covered fault, or you have not carried out the verification and fitting steps we asked for, you pay the actual costs of the visit — travel, accommodation and time at our published service rates — and we tell you so before we come.
Where the Australian Consumer Law applies to your purchase and the goods are found to have failed a consumer guarantee, we bear the costs the law requires, including collecting goods that cannot reasonably be returned because of their size or installation.
We acknowledge a claim as soon as we can, normally within 2 business days, assess it, and then give you a timeframe for the remedy. We work to that timeframe as quickly as the availability of parts and, for imported equipment, the manufacturer allow. Spares for our machines are held in Australia.
What is not covered
- Consumables and wearing items: chemicals, filter bags and cartridges, heater elements, seals, gaskets, hoses, lamps, fuses, baskets and racks, and cavitation erosion of tank surfaces, which is normal wear in ultrasonic service.
- Damage or failure caused by chemistry that is not compatible with the tank or components, by water quality outside the specification in the manual, or by operation outside the stated temperature, concentration, loading or duty limits.
- Damage caused by transport, storage or installation after delivery where we did not arrange it, by power supply faults, by accident, misuse or neglect, or by failure to carry out the maintenance set out in the manual.
- Operation of a machine before we have commissioned and handed it over, where commissioning by us was agreed: the express warranty on the machine is void from that operation and any resulting fault or damage is repaired at your cost.
- Repairs, modifications or parts fitted by anyone other than us or our authorised agent, and any fault they cause.
- Marks that are part of industrial fabrication and do not affect function: weld seams and heat tint, grind and polish patterns, minor scratches, small dents and surface marks, differences in finish between panels and differences in appearance from drawings, renders or photographs; cosmetic damage that does not affect operation; and normal deterioration of finishes. A surface finish specified in the quotation is supplied to that standard.
- Software and firmware, other than correcting a defect that prevents the machine from operating to its specification.
- Site attendance, travel and accommodation where our assessment is that a visit is not needed, where a visit finds no covered fault, or where the verification and fitting steps we asked for were not carried out — unless the quotation included site attendance.
An exclusion applies only to the extent the cause listed contributed to the fault. Using a third-party chemical or fitting a third-party part does not by itself cancel the warranty on unrelated components. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
How to claim
Contact us at [email protected] or 1300 647 664 (1300 MISONICS) with your name, the invoice or order number, the model and serial number, a description of the fault and, where possible, photographs or a short video. Stop using equipment if continued use could be unsafe or cause further damage. Do not attempt repairs beyond the operator maintenance in the manual without speaking to us.
We will confirm receipt, arrange a remote session or inspection, and tell you what we found and what we will do. If inspection shows the fault is not covered, we will give you a quotation for the repair before doing any chargeable work; a reasonable inspection or call-out fee applies only where we told you the fee before attending and the fault was not covered.
Keep proof of purchase. Registration is not required for this warranty to apply.
